As technical advisors, EFC will offer to the five sites assistance to move their efforts in the creation of safe and secure neighborhoods that support and promote aging in place. Through meetings, conference calls and site visits with project directors, stakeholders and residents, EFC will counsel, direct and problem solve for the coordination and implementation of the planning continuum.
Elder-Friendly Communities, the Indianapolis NORC, has been fortunate to have a comfortable working relationship with the Indiana Division of Aging. Former DA director, Steve Smith, embraced the uniqueness of the NORC concept and allowed for the formation of a planning grant initiative. Director Smith included the NORC concept as a priority in his annual Division of Aging address.
