Community Bereavement Support Group

A new bereavement support group, facilitated by Rabbi Bruce Pfeffer, Board Certified Chaplain, is beginning in April. The group is structured as an ongoing, drop-in group that will meet twice a month, on the first Thursday of the month from 7pm-8:30pm, and on the 3rd Monday of the month from 10am-11:30am. The group, which will meet at the Reuben Center at 6905 Hoover Road, is open to all who have experienced bereavement. The group will begin April 19th at 10am, and the following meeting will occur on May 6th at 7pm.

If you have any questions or would like more information about the group, please contact Julie Sondhelm, Community Social Worker, at 259-6822 Ext. 6.

We would also like to know if there is an interest in the community to have specialized groups for a particular type of grief experience- for example, if it would be helpful to have a group just for parents who have lost children, or for those who have experienced a loss in a premature fashion. Please contact Julie if you feel a specific type of bereavement support would be helpful.

Open Your Home and Your Heart . . .

…by providing home hospitality to visiting Israelis who will be coming to Indianapolis at various times throughout the year as a part of our Partnership with Israel exchange programs.

These guests may be dancers, artists, musicians or students; and for many this is their first trip to the United States.   As we give them a taste of our famous Hoosier Hospitality, we in return get the opportunity to build relationships with our fellow Jews in Israel – an experience that enriches our lives as well.

To be a host or for more information, please contact Michele Boukai at 317.726.5450 or by email.
