The Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis is delighted to announce that the Joe and Sylvia Rothbard Family have created the Joe and Sylvia Rothbard Family Endowment Fund at the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis to provide scholarships for Jewish Youth's participation at Jewish overnight camps or group youth trips to Israel. The scholarships will be known as the Joe and Sylvia Rothbard Family Scholarships for Youth Experiences.
These scholarships are available to Jewish youth living in Greater Indianapolis who are ages 8-18 years old. These scholarships are based on financial need and can be used for overnight summer camps of Israel youth trips and programs. Programs such as the 6-month Alexander Muss High School in Israel program of Winter Break trips are eligible. There is no minimum duration for the trip/camp experience. The Federation Scholarship committee will manage the selection process.
Applications for these scholarships will be available from the Federation office at 6705 Hoover Road or on our website. Click here for applications.
The Rothbard family created this endowment fund because studies have shown that peer group camping and Israel youth experiences play an important role in shaping children's Jewish self identification.
